DWIGHT HOBBES -Atlanta Children 45 (Beatbad 1008) 1981: cool '68-style sunshine dark-po

DWIGHT HOBBES -Atlanta Children 45 (Beatbad 1008) Twin Cities '81: cool, 1968-style sunshine dark-pop/baroque-pop with the full Wrecking Crew treatment, detuned piano, and fuzz/psych guitar [A] (despite the over-wrought lyrics and horrible graphics). The flipside is deeply-confused-but-possibly-brilliant baritone, disco-beat modern soul/poprock with alternating female vocals from Beatbad regular Fran Parker.
Dwight's a well-known writer nowadays and still performs locally - albeit in a much different (and handsomely Richie-Havens-ish) hard-folkie style.
