Primitons - 6-song EP (Throbbing Lobster #8) Late '85.
test-pressing + black-and-white cover edition of 100. Blank labels/stickers with the song-titles. The front of the jacket looks almost identical to the regular issue, except that the eye of the fish isn't red any more, so you get to see Richard Mock's woodcut the way he intended it...
Primitons were our first out-of-town signing. Four guys (and a terrific female lyricist) from Birmingham, Alabama, by way of Mitch's Drive-In. Great gnarly jangly stuff - and one of Mitch Easter's finest productions - with inspired artwork. The college-rock establishment adored it and even Byron Coley pronounced it "a dandy howl of a disk." They toured with Carnival Season and did an LP and a 12" for What Goes On. More terrific artwork is on the insert along with complete lyrics.
