AMA-DOTS - s/t LP (RERUN #016) Milwaukee '80-84: Well-bent goth/death/post/punk with female vocals. Unreleased studio recordings unearthed by Jason Rerun, remastered by H2D.

Formed in the late 70's, Ama-dots pushed the Punk ethos to a decidedly irreverent, twisted and experimental sound, from the pop-wavey 'Hit Girls' to the decidedly angry and mean ('Strange Brute', etc.) The 'Hit Girls' 45 appeared on their own Hunky Recs in 1980 and struck a particular chord with female Punk patrons...
Ama-Dots toured extensively through the Midwest and the South, then hit the legendary clubs in NYC before reaching into Canada. They opened for Captain Beefheart, Sun Ra, Gang Of Four, and Talking Heads, among diverse and noteworthy others.

The band signed on with Chicago's Autistic Records with sessions produced by Iain Burgess - a major architect of the Chicago Post-Punk sound with Big Black, Ministry, Effigies and more. Burgess brought the dark, aggressiveness out while not limiting the quirks, kinks and perverse sense of humor. Unfortunately, Autistic imploded, their new recordings remained unheard (on an acetate!), so their lone single was all the collectors ever knew...

This limited edition LP is pressed on gold marbled vinyl and includes an 11” X 17” insert with rare photos and written accounts by writers, fans and critics including a first-person account of a particularly harrowing Ama-dots gig in Toronto.
